Bald eagles return to Heinz Wildlife Refuge

Bald eagles have returned to the John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge System in Delaware County.

Adults were spotted yesterday afternoon by a nest, and though no hatchlings have been spotted, the adults’ behavior indicates there may be activity in the nest.

That means there are eaglets at the refuge for the fourth consecutive year — cause for celebration at the refuge, which is also marking its 110th birthday today.
