I’m back, and glad to be
I’ve missed a lot over the last ten days. What was supposed to be a one-week family trip to Costa Rica went badly two days before we were to return when my wife was knocked over by a big wave in the Pacific and ended up hospitalized on the other side of the country with a serious neck injury.
We’re back, and she’ll need disc surgery here, but should be okay in the end. It was a harrowing few days as she was taken across the country in an ambulance and I and my two kids tried to follow what was happening and make sound decisions.
But the medical care she got in Costa Rica was top notch and very affordably-priced. In fact the worst experience by far on that score was trying to deal with Independence Blue Cross. And I can’t say enough about how gracious and helpful citizens of that country were. I recommend the place highly.
I’ll now resume my humble commentary on matters here. It’s good to be back.
