Butterflies of Brandywine Creek

Enjoy a few of the native butterflies that inhabit our living spaces. We’ll give you ideas to start a butterfly garden of your own. Program starts promptly at 2 p.m. There is no fee; however, donations toward our education programs will gladly be accepted. Walk-ins are welcome if space is available.  Brandywine Creek State Park, August 20th, 2 p.m.

Story Fort

Build a comfy fort with chairs, blankets, binder clips, and other building supplies, then cozy up inside with new friends and read stories about construction. Delaware Children’s Museum, August 22nd, 11 a.m.

 

 

Art at Lunch: Oil Painting with Judith Goldsmith

Ms. Goldsmith will demonstrate how she begins a small still life painting from direct observation. She will discuss her methods, materials, influences, and interests as well as answer questions. Lunch will be provided. Biggs Museum of American Art, August 24th, 12 p.m.

 

 

Washington National Opera

Overseen by Plácido Domingo, the Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program is unique in guiding young singers, coaches/accompanists, conductors, and stage directors on the verge of international careers. The Young Artists also have the opportunity to perform and cover roles on the main stage of the Washington National Opera. Join us for an evening of Opera favorites as performed by future international opera stars! The Freeman Stage at Bayside, August 26th, 7 p.m.
