Arts live on

Philadelphia’s arts community lost one of its champions last year, but her name lives on in spirit and now, in a new award.

The Arts and Business Council of Greater Philadelphia and PNC have teamed up to honor Peggy Anderson by presenting a $1,000 award in her name next year. Anderson, the former Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance leader died last year of cancer.

But for at least the next three years, the Arts Alive Award for Arts Innovation will be given annually to a local organization that successfully attracts and retain an audience.
