    Delaware Children’s Museum Opening Day

    On Saturday, April 24th, we will open our doors for our first full day of operations. We simply can’t wait to greet our guests for a fun-filled day of play and learning. We are very pleased to have Senator Carper scheduled to help cut the front door ribbon promptly at 9AM. Additionally, we have some special programming planned to celebrate the occasion, including our Earth Balloon, face painting, story telling, and crafts. April 24th, 9 a.m.

    Vijay Iyers’s “Tirtha”

    Part of Clifford Brown Year Round, this show is presented in partnership with the City of Wilmington’s DuPont Clifford Brown Jazz Festival and the Christina Cultural Arts Center. Tirtha generates an astonishingly full ensemble sound and achieving a natural and organic synthesis of traditional soundscapes. The result is a 21st-century, jazz-meets-world music chamber that is eminently listenable and vibrantly alive. The Grand, April 30th 8 p.m.

    Philadanco

    Celebrating its 40th anniversary, Philadanco makes its second appearance on the Schwartz Center stage. Philadanco, otherwise known as Philadelphia’s dance company, blends the techniques of classical ballet and modern dance. Schwartz Center for the Arts, April 24th 7 p.m.

    Antique Cars with Tom McElhone

    Does your head turn when a classic car or hot rod goes by? Then join Tom McElhone (AKA Mac Thomas, DJ) on April 19 and 26 at 7 p.m. Tom will discuss car collecting and answer questions about how to be an expert car hobbyist. Kirkwood Library, April 26th 7 p.m.
