AP classes for teachers now underway

More than 100 Advanced Placement teachers are going back to class this week as part of the state’s Race to the Top.

The training sessions for AP teachers is part of the state’s effort to graduate more college-ready students. The classes in biology, calculus, chemistry, English literature and other subjects are being held this week in Lewes and Middletown, with a second session planned for the first week of August. The classes are being funded with $556,000 of the state’s $119 million federal Race to the Top grant.
