Accident on Arch Street

NewsWorks contributor Matt Petrillo was at the scene of an accident that looked pretty scary but could have had a much more grim outcome.

A motorist traveling on Arch Street spun out between Fifth and Sixth streets and and into a light pole. The front end of the driver’s car was smashed, and the motorist himself was shaken up, but apparently not seriously injured.

Former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld was speaking nearby at the National Constitution Center and security stationed outside were the first on the scene of the accident.
