Academy of Natural Sciences prepares for its bicentennial

Coming up on its 200th anniversary, the Academy of Natural Sciences is showing its age a bit. That’s why the board has approved $700,000 in renovation funds to “dress up” the academy for its 2012 celebration.

The board will oversee the projects with its four new leaders, and expects the work to be done by the end of this year.

Aside from exhibit updates and internal renovations, the academy will make serious upgrades to its 19th Street entrance to match the recently renovated main entrance.
