Blackjack player takes $6 million in winnings, devastates casino’s revenue numbers

    Summer’s quickly approaching, but things aren’t looking too hot for Atlantic City.

    First, there was the news of Borgota’s layoffs.

    Then, we got the newest revenue numbers, showing a 32-month slump.

    And now? Well, let’s just say the gambling city’s getting kicked around while it’s down.

    The Press of Atlantic City reports that a blackjack player at Tropicana won a whopping $6 million–single-handedly ruining the casino’s numbers for an entire month.

    It was the largest winnings in the casino’s history, prompting Tropicana’s outgoing chief executive officer, Mark Giannantonio to say, “We ran very unlucky.”
