Police search for 7-Eleven robber in 14th District

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the man who robbed a 7-Eleven customer after following him home earlier this month.

The victim was in the 7-Eleven, located at 2400 North 77th Street, on Nov. 13 at about 11 p.m. when a man approached him inside the store and asked for a cigarette. He gave the man a cigarette and walked out of the store.

When the victim got home, he noticed the same man from the 7-Eleven had followed him. The suspect then displayed a handgun and demanded money. He stole the victim’s cell phone and cigarettes, fleeing on foot.

Police describe the man as a black male, 6-feet tall, 170-pounds. At the time of the robbery he was wearing a black jacket, black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and a white baseball hat carrying a gray sweatshirt.
