$5,000 grant to help Chester study open space

A new $5,000 grant from PECO will help Chester study existing open space and how to preserve it.

According to a story from the Daily Times, the grant is part of PECO’s Green Region, and was also awarded to Middletown and Upper Darby Townships, along with Parkside and Media boroughs.

A plan for the study in Chester was announced during an August 1 council meeting.

The plan will help the borough to identify the remaining parcels of open space and adopt a plan to preserve as much of the land as possible.
