Philadelphia City Council–page is loading

Philadelphia City Council is complaining about something that most everyone can relate to: slow Internet access.

Council President Anna Verna said she’s not happy with how the computers in her office act.

“It appears that Internet access continues to be a problem,” Verna said. “Can someone explain why we are still having a problem with the Internet?”

Interim Technology Officer Thomas Jones said the administration is working on the problem.

“The city actually only has one low-speed connection. We have ordered and have in place two new high speed connections that are 18 times as fast, we have also placed an order for the equipment to handle that,” said Jones.

The city is also trying to implement the old Wireless Philadelphia system for public employees to use when they are working outside the office.
