After losing in the primary, Frank Rizzo Jr. ponders his options

A Philadelphia City Councilman with a big name is talking about his life after politics.

Frank Rizzo was surprised about his finishing seventh and not winning an at-large Republican nomination for Philadelphia City Council.

“I didn’t lose any sleep over it, it’s part of the business,” he said. “If you get into this business and you aren’t prepared to lose, you shouldn’t be in this business. You hopefully want to win, but you really should be prepared to lose.”

Rizzo believes signing up for the DROP retirement incentive program was his undoing, but he’s not sure how he will vote on a bill to reform DROP. As for his future he isn’t coy.

“If anyone is interested in a slightly grayed-with-experience talk show host,  I’m available,” he said.

Rizzo has done talk radio on and off for the past decade.
