Philadelphia politicians biking to work

Bike To Work Day in Philadelphia brought some high power riders to two wheels.

Congressmen Chaka Fattah and Bob Brady along with Mayor Michael Nutter rode in from the Art Museum as part of National Bike to Work Day. Congressman Brady said riding with a police escort is a lot better than the average cyclist’s commute.

“With an escort you can sit and talk and look at the sites, without an escort you gotta be careful,” said Brady.

Brady said he bikes a great deal, but not to work.

“I ride down the shore a lot you gotta be careful, people don’t respect and the motorist just cuts you out,” he said.

Brady said not just any bike will do for him.

“Yeah, it takes a big frame bike to handle me, them little thin ones are not too good, and I need a fat seat, and they make them by the way.”
