Sen. Anthony Hardy Williams endorses Nutter’s re-election

A one time potential rival for Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter is now firmly entrenched in his re-election camp.
The duo spoke outside a West Philadelphia charter school.

State Senator Anthony Hardy Williams says he is endorsing Mayor Michael Nutter after the two discussed the future of the city beyond Election Day especially when it comes to choice in education.

“I think those dialogues will continue I think there is common ground when we talk about choice and options, and while his path might not necessarily mimic mine exactly I’m sure there are broad areas he’s become more interested in than he has in the past,” said Williams.

Mayor Nutter says he appreciates the senator’s support.  “I think take the two days off the calendar that we are all tied up in elections, generally the other 363 days when we are doing the people’s business and the people’s work and that’s what matters most to Philadelphians,” he said.
