Charlotte a learning experience for one Philadelphia City Councilman

A convention delegate from Philadelphia says there is much more than parties at the DNC this week in Charlotte.

Councilman Curtis Jones says he doesn’t come to the political convention for a party, he comes for the interaction and education.

“I’m going to workshops concerning senior citizens which is complimentary to my local effort on how to make cities more livable for seniors and then veterans’ affairs workshop I’m going to will compliment the September Councilman Oh and I are doing a workshop on returning veterans,” said Jones.

As for the parties that surround the convention, Councilman Jones isn’t impressed.

“Quite frankly the parties aren’t all that great,” said Jones. “For me the party is when you get some knowledge, some resources that you can bring back.”

As a Democrat, Jones says he enjoys being around party members who are energized and focused on helping re-elect President Obama.
