Police shoot suspect to end standoff near City Hall

A man has been shot by police, after “firing randomly” near Philadelphia City Hall.  Police say the man was firing early this morning outside the Masonic Temple on Broad Street just north of City Hall.

A police spokesman said area police officers, as well as others who were nearby to appear at the courthouse, responded to the shooting.  At least two shots hit one of the Masonic Temple’s first floor windows, and shots also hit at least two vehicles.  Police officers shot the man, who is now being treated at Hahnemann Hospital.   Traffic in the area around City Hall is still a mess.
