Gosnell pleads not guilty, could face death penalty

A Philadelphia abortion doctor accused of murder could face the death penalty.  Gosnell pleaded not guilty at his arraignment this morning

The District Attorney’s office officially notified Dr Kermit Gosnell’s lawyer, Jack McMahon, at the arraignment that he could be facing the death penalty at trial.  McMahon says it’s nothing but a waste of time and money.

“Cause he won’t he’s 70 years old by the time, I  mean the last execution in Pennsylvania was in 1999 for somebody who wanted it so the reality of a 70 year old man actually getting it isn’t a reality again it’s in name only,” he says.

McMahon says the defense in the case will center around the gestation of the fetuses, and calls the grand jury report merely a way to shock the public.
