Nearly 19% of water systems tested in Pa. contain PFAS levels above new EPA standards

Coatesville, Doylestown, Audubon, New Hope and Solebury water providers are among 22 that fail to meet state requirements to reduce the “forever chemicals” in drinking water.

For the first time, Pa. schools with on-site wells have been required to test drinking water for PFAS. Some rely on private wells because they are far away from public water.

Residents with private wells in parts of Montgomery County have relied on bottled water or filtration systems since the 1990s.
