Affordable housing, rental assistance and home repairs: Philly progressives are pushing City Council for a ‘worker’s budget’

A N.J. Assembly committee approved bills to give residents better access to affordable housing information, and keep renters from getting evicted.

The bill was part of a state-sponsored test of using speed cameras to enforce school zone speed limits. Its future is now uncertain.

There’s already a bill of rights for domestic workers on the books in Philadelphia, but organizers say it’s difficult to enforce it without an anti-retaliation measure.
