FDR Park is getting a new pop-up play space designed by kids

The decision comes days after a group of residents filed a lawsuit seeking to stop the park renovation.

At issue are 48 mature trees, which the Fairmount Park Conservancy proposes cutting down to make way for athletic fields.

$1.5 million from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law will help fund work in the natural areas of FDR Park, part of a $250 million park renovation.
