Delco boroughs seek main street designation to uplift businesses along Chester Pike

Aimed to make crossing the street safer, pedestrian "refuge islands" are being built at more than a dozen intersections along Chestnut Street in West Philly.

The 2.1-mile protected bike lane project, which includes upgrading several high-injury network intersections, is expected to be completed by 2029.
