N.J. motor vehicle agency service ‘unacceptable,’ boss says, but they’re making progress

Parents and guardians must now certify their teen driver has logged 50 hours of supervised practice, including 10 hours at night, before they can get a probationary license.

A bill is working its way through the N.J. legislature that would allow a license to be carried on a cellphone, tablet, or any device with internet capability.

The $9 million report has 33 recommendations that Gov. Phil Murphy says will be worked on through the end of his term.
