Expanded train lines in 30 cities and towns? AmeriStarRail wants to privatize Amtrak service on Northeast Corridor

U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said fewer disruptions on the tracks will mean trains can “operate the way they’re supposed to.”

The aim: Tap into infrastructure funds and try to restore a line connecting Reading, Phoenixville, Pottstown, Norristown, and Philly.

Rail passage through northern Delaware has long been hamstrung by a two-track bottleneck. The third track will improve train service and speed, officials said.
