Food, music, civic engagement planned for Philly’s first Arab Community Day

With Donald Trump’s inauguration fast approaching on MLK holiday, dozens of Philadelphians gathered to reflect on Dr. King’s legacy and the current political moment.

“The sole purpose of this day is to recognize the longstanding contributions historically, economically, socially of Palestinians,” said Jude Husein, a Palestinian American.

The collaborators behind the Friends, Peace, and Sanctuary Journal distributed 2,500 copies of the paper’s first quarterly across Philadelphia in May.
