Delaware Valley blood banks are asking people to roll up their sleeves amid national shortage in donations

The American Lung Association's annual State of Tobacco Control report shows some progress in reducing smoking-related illnesses, but gaps remain.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the need for donated blood has risen even as opportunities to donate have fallen, leading to a significant shortage.

The Philadelphia-based Crescent Foundation and the Red Cross will host the blood drive Sept. 9 in University City. Appointments are encouraged.
