No fare card, no problem: PATCO moves to let riders pay with their phones

Researchers surveyed hundreds of public transportation riders about their experiences to help shape future transit infrastructure decisions.

The rail service between Camden County and Philadelphia will begin to accept bank cards and mobile payment directly. The Freedom Card will remain for now.

The project started in 2020 and is expected to wrap up early next year.
