N.J.’s Carli Lloyd makes U.S. soccer team for her 4th Olympics

The Delran, New Jersey native — who scored a hat trick in the U.S. victory over Japan in the 2015 World Cup final — earned 47 of 48 votes from the player selection committee.

The captain was injured last week while playing for his Inter Miami club in the CONCACAF Champions Cup.

It was the first women's Gold Cup, created to bring teams in the region more meaningful competition.
