Mayor Kenney mandates COVID-19 vaccines for all city employees by mid-January

The city says nearly all 22,000 workers have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine or have exemption status.

In a 2-1 ruling Thursday, a panel of the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans reversed a lower court and ordered dismissal of a lawsuit challenging the mandate.

Restaurant and venue owners largely praised Philadelphia’s decision to immediately end the requirement to present proof-of-vaccination to dine indoors.
