Camden City Councilman Arthur Barclay appears in court for hitting pedestrian while driving with suspended license in 2023

In a recording obtained by WHYY, a Camden County official said it was “by the grace of God” neighboring sewage treatment operations were spared.

Willie Hunter is accused of seriously injuring the victim in the midst of a break up. He faces several charges including aggravated assault by strangulation.

The case against the first-term councilman stems from a July 2023 incident.
