JD Vance is Donald Trump’s pick for running mate. The freshman Ohio Senator first became known nationally for his bestselling 2016 memoir Hillbilly Elegy and subsequent film adaptation, which is about his poverty-stricken Appalachian upbringing. Once a fierce Trump critic, Vance became a staunch Trump supporter and MAGA Republican during his 2021 Senate bid. Today we’ll discuss who JD Vance is and break down the evolution of his political ideology. We’ll talk about his Vice-Presidential nomination and why he might have been chosen to join the Trump ticket. And we want to hear from you: What do you think of Vance and do you think he will sway undecided voters in Pennsylvania?

We’re joined by Andrew Tobias, chief politics reporter for Cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer and Christopher Borick, Director of the Muhlenberg College Institute of Public Opinion. We’ll also hear from Malcolm Collins, a leader in the pronatalist movement, about his excitement with Trump’s VP pick.
