Philadelphia doula program could promote recovery and prevent drug overdose deaths, study finds

As of Feb. 1, certified perinatal doulas in Pennsylvania can join the state’s Medicaid program as in-network providers in maternity care.

Delaware County officials, U.S. Senator Bob Casey, and Representative Mary Gay Scanlon said the goal is to reduce racial disparities in maternal and infant health outcomes.
