Sen. Bob Menendez enters not guilty plea to latest criminal indictment

Menendez was originally scheduled to face trial last year with her husband, but a breast cancer diagnosis led to surgery that forced her trial to be delayed.

Lawyers for Menendez, who was convicted in July of 16 charges, cite a recent revelation that improper evidence was put on a computer used by jurors during deliberations.

Federal prosecutors insisted it should have no effect on the Democrat’s conviction.
