Indego to expand, add e-bikes as more people turn to bicycles for transportation

The 2.1-mile protected bike lane project, which includes upgrading several high-injury network intersections, is expected to be completed by 2029.

More bikes and stations are being added with new spots in Mantua, North Philadelphia, and South Philadelphia, with more than 2,200 bikes available for rental.

The city wants to nearly double the number of bike share stations and will concentrate on underserved areas in historically-marginalized communities.
