Citing ‘burnout,’ doctors with ChristianaCare file papers to form system’s first labor union

The union will include about 500 staff physicians at three hospitals in Delaware and Maryland and a stand-alone emergency center.

The bill heads back to the House for approval of a Senate amendment. Hospitals are neutral on the bill after fierce opposition.

The report found that New Jersey has around 17 primary care physicians for every 100,000 people, which is far below previous estimates.
