Studio 2 Extra: Fmr. Penn chair Scott Bok on fight for university's soul

In his new memoir, Surviving Wall Street, former University of Pennsylvania Board of Trustees Chair Scott Bok offers a critique of Wall Street, the donor class and their outsized influence in the world, including on universities. It’s an interesting perspective since Bok himself was an investment banker for four decades and a big Penn donor.

Bok sat down with Avi Wolfman-Arent to talk about his memoir, reflect on the student protests in the fall of 2023, the congressional hearings that led to his, and Penn President Liz Magill’s, very public resignations, and the power Wall Street donors wield over universities.
