Supreme Court upholds Biden rule requiring serial numbers and background checks for ghost guns

The U.S. Supreme Court is expected to weigh in on regulations on 3D-printed firearms after several states have filed lawsuits regarding their regulation.

A ghost gun is a firearm without a serial number. Police said Monday that the gun used in last week's shooting of Brian Thompson may have been made with a 3D printer.

The justices ruled 6-0 to uphold the dismissal of a lawsuit filed by the city, family members of gun violence victims and the nonprofit group CeaseFirePA.
