Purdue Pharma, U.S. states agree to new opioid settlement

Families, cities and states wish to hold Purdue Pharma, the maker of Oxycontin, and its owners, the Sackler family, accountable for the opioid crisis.

After deliberating more than six months, the justices in a 5-4 vote blocked an agreement hammered out with state and local governments and victims.
