Pa. borrowers receive $45.1 million in student loan forgiveness under Biden administration’s SAVE plan

The termination follows threats last week from the Trump administration. The White House has not told Penn how it can get the money back.

Students say they were surprised by the “unprecedented” penalties dealt out by the college following protests in 2023 and 2024.

“This is immediate proactive action to review discretionary funding streams” to the University of Pennsylvania, a senior White House official told WHYY News.
