Pa. again pledges extra help to remove lead paint from Philly schools

The School District of Philadelphia will spend 40% of its reserves in order to avoid budget cuts for one more year. After that, there are no guarantees.

The School District of Philadelphia reports some higher scores for third- through eighth-grade students, higher attendance and a lower dropout rate.

The district implemented an expanded 9th Grade On-Track program and hired an administrator to better coordinate a district-wide dropout reduction strategy.
