Masking will be optional for students and staff except when determined necessary to fight an outbreak.

The district is one of just a few in the U.S. to require masks periodically this school year. Nearby Camden City School District also started the year with a mask mandate.

The original agreement required students to “assume any and all risk” of COVID-19, which some said amounted to a liability waiver.
