FDA gives full approval to Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine

The Food and Drug Administration’s action Tuesday now opens a third shot to elementary-age kids, too — at least five months after their last dose.

Key questions include how often the vaccines should be updated against new viral strains and who should get them.

The FDA reversed course and said it had become clear it needed to wait for data on how well that third shot works for this age group.
