Big Pennsylvania state employee unions ratify new 4-year agreements with Shapiro administration

The governor’s plan tackles the growing nursing shortage by paying students part of their tuition back if they stay in Pennsylvania to work.

Out of 81,000 state jobs, Pennsylvania has 5,600 “critical vacancies” for posts including registered nurses, civil engineers, accountants and emergency-management positions.

Shapiro filed the lawsuit despite the fact that federal courts have repeatedly rejected the Trump administration's sweeping pause on federal funding.
