Wolf, state senators continue to back Cheyney despite struggles

The governor’s plan tackles the growing nursing shortage by paying students part of their tuition back if they stay in Pennsylvania to work.

Last year, the state passed a budget with record education spending. Shapiro is asking for more money for education, including more than $500 million more for schools in need.

The bill won support from all but one Republican and most Democrats. It now goes to the House.
