Two storms pose possible double threat to U.S. Gulf Coast

The storm tracked to the south in the final hours and made landfall as a Category 3 storm Wednesday night in Siesta Key, about 70 miles south of Tampa.

The warming climate boosted Helene's wind speeds by about 13 miles per hour, and made the high sea temperatures that fueled the storm 200 to 500 times more likely.

Members of PA-TF1 are stationed in Marion, North Carolina, where they are conducting search and rescue missions.
