‘I wish I was there’ — Puerto Ricans in North Philly keeping a close eye on island protests

Philly Puerto Ricans on both sides of the political spectrum condemned a comedian’s remarks — and said it could have an impact at the polls.

The theme of this year’s event was “The Puerto Rican Dreamers,” recognizing the achievements made by Puerto Ricans to inspire young Philadelphians.

Dozens of Philadelphia Puertorriqueños sang, danced, and gave speeches celebrating the resignation of Puerto Rico’s scandal-entangled governor.
