Could Democrats have accomplished more with censure than impeachment?

Republican state lawmakers on Thursday filed an appeal with the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, hoping to preserve elements of their impeachment case.

Several county parties already voted to censure Toomey even before Saturday's vote. In Washington County, GOP chairman Dave Ball said party members felt betrayed by Toomey.

“Without bipartisan support I believe this inquiry will further divide the country tearing it apart at the seams and will ultimately fail in the Senate,” Van Drew said.
