WHYY Sustainer Wine Tasting Contest Details
What is the prize?
Contest running one day only, Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM. To be entered to win one of ten (10) pairs of tickets to a Wine Tasting a Chaddsford Winery on Saturday, November 18th at 12:00 PM (event runs from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM), you must make a sustaining donation, be a sustainer giving an additional one-time donation or increase your sustaining pledge by $1/month or more. (Retail value $60 per pair of tickets)
How am I entered to win? Where can I enter to win?
Enter online with a donation at whyy.org/donate. You can also enter by donating by phone at 1-888-345-9499. Eligible entrants must provide their name, address, email address and phone number as part of their donation or by phone (215-351-0511) for free entry. Incomplete entries will not be eligible to win.
What are the exact details?
Make a donation between 12:00 AM and 11:59PM on Thursday October 19, 2023 on WHYY’s web form (whyy.org/donate) or by telephone at 1-888-345-9499 to be entered to win one of ten (10) pairs of tickets to a Wine Tasting at Chaddsford Winery on Saturday, November 18 at PM. (Event runs from 12:00 PM TO 1:00 PM.)
You can also enter without donating (see next section). One entry per household. (Retail value $60 per pair of tickets)
Do I need to make a gift to enter?
No, but we hope you will enter by donating online at whyy.org/donate. If you prefer not to donate, simply call Member and Audience Services at 215-351-0511.
How many entries are permitted per person?
One entry per household is allowed.
How many total entries will be allowed? What are the odds of winning?
The odds of winning one or more prizes will depend on the number of entrants. We will not set a limit on the total number of entries allowed.
How will the winner be selected?
The winner will be selected at random on October 25, 2023. We will notify the winner directly. Winners need not be present to win.
How will the winner be notified?
WHYY will make reasonable efforts to contact the winner using information provided on the winning entry form. This contact will be phone and/or email. If a winner does not contact WHYY within 10 business days after the first initial contact, WHYY will send notification through certified mail. After an additional 10 business days, WHYY may, at its option, award another person the prize. WHYY will not award a prize if the winner (a) was ineligible to participate, (b) provided materially false or misleading information to WHYY, or (c) if participating or receiving a prize is prohibited with respect to such person pursuant to these Rules or Applicable Law.
Why are you collecting so much personal information? Isn’t email address enough?
We want to make sure we can get in touch with the winner.
If I win, will I be required to pay any taxes based on the value of the prize?
Payment of all federal, state, and local taxes is the sole responsibility of the winner.
Are WHYY Sustainers automatically entered?
WHYY Sustainers are not automatically entered to win. They may enter by making an additional donation or upgrading their monthly donation level at whyy.org/donate or calling member services to enter without donating.
Who is eligible to enter?
To be eligible to enter, you must (a) be at least 18 years old at the time of purchase, (b) be a U.S. resident physically residing in the United States or District of Columbia, and (c) not be precluded by Applicable Law from participating. Enter online by donating at whyy.org/donate.
WHYY employees, board members and their households may not enter and are not eligible to win a prize.
