WHYY-Billy Penn host regional spelling bee

For the first time ever, WHYY & Billy Penn will host the regional segment of Scripps National Spelling Bee. Welcoming school champions from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Camden and Burlington counties in New Jersey, the WHYY-Billy Penn Regional Spelling Bee will take place on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Penn Alexander School in Philadelphia.

The winning student will move on to the 2022 National Scripps Spelling Bee at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center located in Washington, D.C. in late May of this year.

Though school registration has closed for the 2021 Regional Spelling Bee, the opportunity remains to participate in future spelling bees. Should you wish to be notified when the 2023 National Spelling Bee registration opens, please contact Colleen Slotman at cslotman@whyy.org.
