Maurice Sampson II

Maurice’s environmental career spans 50 years beginning with Earth Day 1970. Among numerous environmental actions he saved 200 acres from suburban development in Cherry Hill, served among the nation’s first Recycling Coordinators for Newark NJ and Philadelphia in 80s. Attending the 1991 People of Color Congress in 1991 he remains active in the Environmental Justice movement, and led the Recycle NOW Philadelphia campaign bringing curbside recycling to all of Philadelphia in 2007

Maurice is currently the Eastern Pennsylvania Director for Clean Water Action, since 2016, have previously served 25 years as a member of that organization’s national Board of Directors.
